The Friends of Myles Standish State Forest website provides info about recreational and conservation activities available in Myles Standish State Forest, the biggest state forest in eastern Massachusetts. Get a copy of the new Myles Standish State Forest map! In 2016, the Friends helped the DCR celebrate the Centennial of Myles Standish SF. The Friends hold an annual free family friendly fishing derby in September, help maintain dozens of miles of hiking trails, monitor bluebird nestboxes and host many group hikes, bird-watching activities, stargazing events and other activities in and around the State Forest. The Friends are private individuals who enjoy using the State Forest and try to help make it a better place for everyone. The Friends of Myles Standish State Forest is a private charitable organization, dedicated to the preservation and responsible enjoyment of this 12,400 acre state forest area in Plymouth and Carver, Massachusetts.
